Masses are st 9.30am and 7.00pm. Ashes will be distributed during Mass.

A DAY OF FAST AND ABSTINENCE

On Ash Wednesday all Catholics, 14 years of age and over, are to abstain from eating meat. The law of fasting requires a Catholic from their 18th birthday to the beginning of their 60th year to reduce the amount of food eaten from normal. The Church defines this as one meal a day, and two smaller meals which if added together would not exceed the main meal in quantity. Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that the practice of fasting “is a great help to avoid sin,” a way to combat “disordered attachment to ourselves” and a daily reminder that many around the world live in poverty and hunger.

Chinese New Year Celebrations at St Gregory's

The Chinese Catholic Community in Glasgow celebrated the Chinese New Year with Mass and a meal in St Gregory’s. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Dunn,their Chaplain.
